So I have a Galaxy S3 for AT&T and I am unable to upgrade to Jelly Bean via Kies. I am not using Air so that is not the problem. I have tried about 10 times now while restarting my phone and computer multiple times. All it does every single time is go through the prepare process but NEVER actually does the upgrade.
If you have a phone that originally came with Gingerbread and now has been upgraded to ICS, I don't think Jelly Bean will be any better. Maybe a little more stable but I don't think you will see any kind of performance benefit. While everyone wants to be on the latest Android build, a lot of the older phones can't handle it well.

Without much further ado, here are the steps that you can take. Firstly, download the Android 4.2.2 AOKP Build 4 Jelly Bean Custom ROM, followed by downloading Google Apps for the Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100). After that, hook up your Galaxy S2 to the computer via USB, copy and paste the aforementioned downloaded files over to the SD card.
